Long-sleeve football shirt guide: sleeve length, cuffs and fit
Compare body and sleeve measurements using the same measuring points, then check the cuff and shoulder design.
Agree where the sleeve measurement starts
For a conventional shoulder seam, measure from that seam to the cuff edge along the sleeve. A raglan sleeve may need a different starting point, such as the neckline. Ask the seller which method is used and compare like with like; a sleeve-length number without its starting point can mislead.
Check body length and cuffs together
Measure flat chest width and shoulder-to-hem length as well as sleeves. Look at the cuff opening and ask whether it is fitted or loose. Describe any layer you plan to wear underneath. A longer sleeve does not establish that the chest or body length will also suit you.
Do not infer warmth from sleeve length
Long sleeves identify coverage, not the fabric weight, lining or thermal performance. Ask about the actual material of the selected reference. Check the team, season and front and back photos if you are matching a particular design.
